Consumer Insights & Data Manager – Lighters Category

As Consumer Insights & Data Manager within the Marketing team, you will play a key role in bringing market and consumer intelligence to our lighters business leaders globally. The role combines consumer research (~70% of time) to generate actionable insights, and data analysis and market sizing (~30% of time) to build the foundational knowledge that shapes strategies.

Your role includes:

Consumer & Market Research

Understand business objectives and design research plans to uncover consumer preferences and market dynamics

Drive consumer research to generate insights and support innovation (concept tests, U&A studies…), in line with BIC Research Standards

Manage quantitative and qualitative studies end-to-end: questionnaire/screener development, survey programming and manage research agencies.

Develop competition surveillance capabilities: collect, organize and centralize internal and external data critical to the lighters category worldwide

Actively seek non-traditional sources for deeper insight, covering flame-related consumption categories

Coordinate research learnings across markets to enrich global category knowledge

Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support strong commercial plans

Data & Market Sizing

Consolidate and cross-analyze data from multiple sources (internal sales, retail panels & audits, consumer/shopper studies) to extract superior intelligence and identify causal relationships between findings

Ensure data integrity, quality and consistency across sources

Support the maintenance and evolution of market sizing and reporting tools

Present findings in a way that's easy to understand for non-technical audiences, with clear recommendations

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative field – statistics, economics, quantitative, mathematics, or related

5+ years of progressive experience in market research or data analytics, ideally with agency-side experience (Kantar, Ipsos, NIQ…)

Fluency in English

Strong Excel skills; working knowledge of a visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus

Data-driven decision-making mindset with strong quantitative and interpretation skills

Effective project management and cross-functional collaboration skills

Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex data into clear business narratives

Teamwork mindset

Business partnership mindset: understands business needs and turns them into research/analytical solutions
