Thesis (M): Development of a Two-Zone Thermal Reactor

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) is one of the world's leading organizations for application-oriented research. 74 institutes develop pioneering technologies for our economy and society – more precisely: 30 000 people from technology, science, administration and IT. They know: Anyone who comes to Fraunhofer wants to and can make a difference. For themselves, for us and for the markets of today and tomorrow.

The Sulzbach-Rosenberg branch of the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety, and Energy Technology Fraunhofer UMSICHT develops process engineering solutions in the field of carbon conversion (next-generation biofuels, recycling technologies for plastics and composite materials, biochar), low-emission combustion and firing technology, and the provision and storage of process heat. It also has expertise in waste and resource strategies and life cycle assessment (LCA). With a focus on process engineering and plant construction, it supports clients from the project idea through pilot plants and demonstrators to market launch.

Would you like to help us create a sustainable world? We are looking for new talent!

As part of the “Recycling Technologies” group, you will develop innovative thermochemical processes for recovering valuable materials and for the sustainable production of high-quality chemicals. In a current project, you will investigate the continuous production and direct conversion of highly reactive intermediates in a two-zone plant to produce hard-to-obtain compounds for applications in the semiconductor and electronics industries.
