Testing Engineer

Nexans Network Solutions – Euromold Division, Belgium

🧭 Welcome to the Team

At Nexans, our ambition is to electrify the future. Within Nexans Network Solutions and the Euromold Division, we develop advanced cable accessories and solutions that support reliable, safe, and efficient energy networks.

To reinforce our manufacturing team, we are looking for a Testing Engineer. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will work at the heart of our operations, collaborating closely with production, maintenance and toolroom, process engineering, planning, automation, and industrialization teams. You will also interact with suppliers of measurement equipment, engineering companies, and machine or tooling suppliers. ⚡

🚀 Getting a Flying Start

As a Testing Engineer, you will manage and continuously improve product testing processes, methods, equipment, and supporting tools. Your objective will be to ensure that testing activities are robust, reliable, efficient, and aligned with product, project, and customer requirements.

From day one, you will support the introduction of new or modified tests and test equipment, contribute to the industrialization of products, and provide technical support across the production environment. You will use performance monitoring, visual management, and continuous improvement approaches to optimise testing capacity, reliability, lead time, and quality while reducing the risk of production disruption.

🎯 How You Make an Impact

  • Define, implement, and maintain testing methods, equipment, automation, auxiliary tools, work instructions, and training materials for product testing.
  • Organize the start-up and follow-up of new or modified tests and perform electrical production testing for new or modified products.
  • Lead improvement projects within the testing area, including initiatives to reduce test time, strengthen test reliability, error-proof processes, and accelerate digitalization.
  • Monitor and improve testing KPIs, such as capacity utilization, test lead time, first-pass yield, non-conformities, and equipment availability; initiate corrective and preventive actions when deviations occur.
  • Develop and maintain visual management in the testing area, including dashboards, alarms, status boards, standard-work displays, and 5S visuals, enabling effective daily performance reviews.
  • Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance teams, while contributing to documentation such as procedures, specifications, manuals, SOPs, and production instructions.

🧩 Your Starting Points

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanics, with knowledge of medium- and high-voltage processes.
  • At least five years of experience in an operational industrial environment, ideally in high-voltage testing or a comparable technical field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with practical experience of KPI monitoring, PDCA, root cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement tools.
  • The ability to design and deploy practical visual management systems, including operational dashboards, indicators, and standard-work visual aids.
  • A strong technical drive and the ability to work independently, combined with creativity, flexibility, motivation, and a collaborative team mindset.
  • Professional fluency in English and Dutch; French is an advantage.

Safety, integrity, and responsibility are fundamental to this role. You will help manage risks related to high-voltage test environments, equipment protection, test quality, availability of testing equipment, and potential production bottlenecks. You will also ensure compliance with Nexans Group procedures, ethical standards, internal controls, and Health, Safety & Environment requirements. 🦺

At Nexans, we value the differences that make every employee unique. You will be part of an international organisation where trust, collaboration, local autonomy, and global knowledge-sharing enable everyone to create meaningful impact. 🌍

If this opportunity is not the right fit for you, please share it with someone in your network who could be a great match. Thank you! 🤝
